Bad quality photos of the rest of the album artwork and the booklet leak to echoingthesound.org.
The booklet has a link printed on it to http://www.freerebelart.com which does not yet appear to be active, only saying:
"Pilgrim Stream: 24.2
Data in transit -".
Playing the cd in a PC brought out the "thermochrome" clue, which was binary and translated as:
0110 0101 = 0x65 = e
0111 1000 = 0x78 = x
0111 0100 = 0x74 = t
0110 0101 = 0x65 = e
0111 0010 = 0x72 = r
0110 1101 = 0x6D = m
0110 1001 = 0x69 = i
0110 1110 = 0x6E = n
0110 0001 = 0x61 = a
0110 1100 = 0x6C = l
0010 1110 = 0x2E = .
0110 1110 = 0x6E = n
0110 0101 = 0x65 = e
0111 0100 = 0x74 = t
http://www.exterminal.net, also not yet active, stating:
"Pilgrim Stream: 24.7
Data in transit -"

Trent was a bit upset at this turn of events, posting in his blog:
"As we approach the end of this leg of the tour I find myself slipping into a depression. Part of it is touring itself - I've really had enough at this point. Another factor has been the production headaches of this tour. I was busy finishing the record and didn't have the resources to dedicate to getting overly involved in the light show this time around, assuming my instructions had been followed... This led to multiple personnel changes and the end result - a poor light show which made / makes every show feel like a disappointment on some level to me.
And... as flattered and happy as I am regarding the interest in Year Zero, it's still frustrating to see that as hard as you try to make the experience as cool as it can be for fans, most people will still hear a poor rip and ugly scans of your artwork - ruining the excitement / secrets / experience. Blah blah blah. Weird position to be in."

yeah, you think? someone obtained the album two weeks early from an illegal source and couldn't wait to scan every bit of it in and spoil it all well before it was intended to be out there? i wonder how it is these sites aren't up yet??
Later in the thread, Trent wrote:
Congratulations! You've figured everything out! All done! We'll get all those sites up ASAP! How was it for you?

Another fake (found on ETS: posted by Lowlevel):
hey everyone, i'm a lower level employee for interscope (hence my s/n). i can't reveal how or when i listened to these year zero rejects, so i understand that some of you won't believe me. i listened to two of the yz rejects and was able to write a transcript of the lyrics below.
the 1st song was labeled "protection", and the music sounds like a mix between "closer", "vessel", and "butterfly caught" by massive attack. the part in () is basically trent whisper-rapping. i guess that's the best way to describe it. it was pretty synthy and ended shortly after the last line. it came after "survivalism".
protection
[trent screams]
they came in the dead of night
using infrared sights
they took me underground
my time is running out
i don't want to be a martyr
there's no glory in dying
they say i should have believed
god help me, i'm trying
these wires shroud my head
they chain me to my bed
turn the dial, let it out
don't know what it's all about
i don't want to be a martyr
there's no glory in dying
they say i should have believed
god help me, i'm trying
(does anybody wanna come down here and help me?)
(i'm slowly sufferring)
(it was all my decision in the first place)
(they keep on telling me)
(bound and gagged, i can't even scream)
(over the sound of their torture machines)
(they say i should have believed)
(god help me, i'm trying)
i don't want to be a martyr
there's no glory in dying
they say i should have believed
god help me, i'm trying
---------------
the 2nd song was called "be the hammer" (like the website and it was probably scrapped because it was unnecessary. if i had to compare it to another nin song, i'd say it's like "big man with a gun". when trent starts saying "be the hammer", the beat grinds. it reminded me of "self destruction, final". it would have gone right before "meet your master". after the last "be the hammer", it becomes static-y, then melds into a short piano-session.
be the hammer
all my sisters and my cousins and my brothers
never knew what it takes to kill
but there's a certain satisfaction in knowing
a happiness to go along with the thrill
they can try and use superior numbers
????????????????????? stand still
my drill sargent always used to tell me
better to be a hammer than an anvil
be the hammer, be the hammer
be the hammer, be the hammer
be the hammer, be the hammer
be the hammer, be the hammer
again, i apologize that i'm sketchy with the details. i may not reply to this thread.
